JANICE M. JARVIS, CITY CLERK

Biography

Janice M. Jarvis serves as both the City Clerk-Treasurer
and Zoning Administrator of the City of Quitman.

As City Clerk-Treasurer, she manages the finance/administrative department.
This department is responsible for
the billing and collection of utilities, advalorem taxes,
and occupation taxes along with various other items
related to municipal government. This department performs
all financial record keeping for the City of Quitman which is
currently governed by a budget in excess of $12 million.

Ms. Jarvis also serves as Zoning Administrator for the City of Quitman.
The Zoning Administrator is the enforcing officer of the
City of Quitman's Zoning Ordinance.

Ms. Jarvis received her Certified Municipal Clerk designation
from the University of Georgia on September 17, 2001
and is currently pursuing her Masters Education
Management Development designation through UGA.

Ms. Jarvis is a member of the Board of Directors of the
Coastal Plains Area Economic Opportunity Authority, Inc.
where she serves as Chairman of the Finance Committee.
She is a member of the Georgia Municipal Clerks
and Finance Officer's Association
and the Georgia Association of Zoning Administrators.
She is also a Georgia licensed real estate professional.

Ms. Jarvis began her employment with the City of Quitman
on September 4, 1984 after moving to Quitman from
her hometown of Sparks, Georgia in 1979. She has three children,
Joy Folsom, Mica Jarvis, and Britt Jarvis and three grandchildren.
Ms. Jarvis was married to the late Robert Edward Jarvis of Quitman.
